Mankind wants to live long. If there was a pill for good health and longevity, many people would have bought it. This blog post is not a cure or guarantee for living long; however, there is a common understanding that if you take care of your body, you live longer.
We have researched and found five tips for good health and longevity. Here they are:
Watch what you eat
You have probably heard it said many times before that “You are what you eat.” There are certain food that you eat, and they give you energy. Other times, you eat something else and you feel tired. It is not a coincidence. Greasy food and solids tend to weigh down the body. Next time, try almonds, nuts, fresh fruits, and vegetables cooked with olive oil.
Add movement and activities into your day
“Ten percent of something is better than 100% of nothing. So even if you have 10 minutes, it’s better than zero minutes,” says Kathianne Sellers Williams, a nutritionist, wellness coach. She suggests taking “a 10-minute walk before lunch or walking up and down the stairs when you’re feeling drained and tired.”
Build healthy social interaction
When you feel rejected by someone, your body sees it as ‘pain’. It explains why heartbreaks and breakups have led to physical sickness. First, start with your mind. Surround yourself with people who energize your passion positively. It can be professional network or co-workers. Next, review your emotional well-being; talk to friends and hang out with family.
You will be amazed at what a ‘Gratitude Journal’ can do. Foremost, it will help you see the positive side to each Also, it gives you something exciting to look forward to each day. Find a notebook and write down one thing you are thankful for at the end of the day. It is somewhat similar to mediation, and it will give you relief. One more thing: look into volunteering at a local charitable organization. It influences the way you see life and create appreciation for the little things.
Form good sleep habits
Your sleep habits affect how well your body relaxes and recharges. Examples of good sleeping habits are: at least one hour before bed, eat light and turn off the screen. Additionally, avoid heavy exercises. The goal is to fall asleep on your own and get enough rest, 6 to 8 hours. If you are battling insomnia, add a hot bath and stay away from caffeinated drinks.
