Tuesday Tutorial: The Do’s and Don’ts of Applying Eyeshadow

Oh the horror of crazy, clown-looking, masquerade-blending eye shadows! The horrorrrrrr…… Learn how to apply Eyeshadow the right way.

1. Priming your eyes.
Don’t not prime your eyes. (Sorry for that double neg guys)
Do Prime your eyes. You can use either a concealer or primer.

2. Transition Shades
Don’t start off with a dark shadow in your crease. It makes it hard to blend out and it will look harsh.
Do start off with a transition shade. Use a tapered brush and light hand. Try a bakc-and-forth motion

3. Add Dimension
Don’t use a fluffy brush
Do use a precision brush tapered for the darker shade. Try a circular motion

4. Blend your eyeshadow
Don’t use densely packed brush to blend the eyeshadow
Do use a blending brush that is free, light, and fluffy

5. Lid Brush
Don’t use a thick brush because it has no room for transitioning
Do use the light brush to apply glittery shade.

The best part of her tutorial is her message to all the ladies out there:

“I want to also say that I’m happy to have you apart of my family, you guys make me so happy! You encourage me everyday to do me and keep doing what I love, no matter how weird I am! Weird is a compliment. If no one has told you today, I want you to know that you’re beautiful and there is no one like you! You are so special to me and I love you with all my highlight and contour!”
