FG Declares New Public Holiday in Nigeria, Dec 12th

Nigeria’s Federal Government declares December 12 as public holiday.

December 12th will mark the Eid-El Maulud; it means ”birth of Prophet Muhammad”.

Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government. He encourages all Muslims in Nigeria and all Nigerians to work with President Muhammadu Buhari in his effort to build a strong, united, and peaceful nation.

Also, Mr. Dambazau urged all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace across the nation. He called on all to be “patient and supportive of the present administration for the successful implementation of its laudable program.”

The minister wishes all Nigerians a happy Eid-El Maulud.
