New Year, New Beef….Olamide YBNL v. Don Jazzy

This came as a shock to a lot of fans who have supported the music heavyweights over the years. YBNL master Olamide and Mavin Boss, Don Jazzy start the new year beefing each other.

The nasty beef started at the 2015 Headies Awards in Lagos after Marvin Record star Reekado Banks won the desired ‘Next Rated Artist’ prize beating Olamide’s protégé, Lil Kesh, .

In frustration, Olamide – with his street voice got on stage with another YBNL act, Adekunle Gold, who had won the award for ‘Best Alternative Artiste,’ to receive the award.

Venting, Olamide said : “He [Lil Kesh] is our next rated artiste. He had back to back hits throughout the year – Lyrically, Shoki, Gbese and Efejok…,” before dropping the mic away and storming off the stage.

Well, let’s just say things got sour after Don Jazzy – feeling Olamide was directing his comment to him – told Olamide to come get the car that went with the Next Rated award, if he wanted it.

When Jazzy got on stage for his ‘Special Recognition Award,’ he said,

“I came out here to support my children. As they were trying to present the award, Reekado Banks was performing at Ali Baba’s show. I have already told my children that I will buy cars for all of them… Egbon Olamide, if you want the car come and collect it.”

Of course, Olamide was angry about the Jazzy’s comments and took to Twitter to insult his Marvin Records counterpart, warning him to stay away from Lagos mainland. The comments has a lot of vulgar. In a bunch of tweets, the YBNL boss accused Don Jazzy of ruining D’Banj’s career, oppressing artists signed to his record label, and using other producer’s work sticking his name to it.

Lil’ Kesh and Reekado Banks have made up, shook hands, and moved on. Both took to Twitter to congratulate each other.

“Congrats on your next rated award @ReekadoBanks This will not be the end for the both of us,more blessings and ?? nothing but ❤️ #REEKY,” he posted.

Reekado replied the post, “Thanks Kesh. #YouAreTheMan ❤️”.

We just have to wait and see if their bosses will make up and move on too.

What a way to start the New Year!!
